Ways to Get Involved
The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
Thank you for partnering with us to help our brothers and sisters who are struggling. Each year, more than 1,000 volunteers impact the lives of our homeless friends at the Rescue Mission. There are countless ways that individuals, groups, companies, schools, and churches can impact the lives of homeless people here at the Mission. How will you be the change today? For groups with people under 18 years old – please see the volunteer release below.
We serve over 700 meals per day to our homeless friends. We couldn’t do it without help from key volunteers like you who help prepare and serve meals for our guests. Gather your family, friends, coworkers, school group or neighborhood organizations and become part of someone’s transformation by volunteering today.
If you are looking for a way for your company can team build and give back to the community at the same time, partner with us! We have good ideas for corporate engagement. There are even opportunities for you to host a Homeless Issues Seminar for your employees.
Throughout the year we have many groups (workplace, school, church, community, fraternal, etc.) that collect need items like food and clothing to donate. Gather your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or your school and get started today.
The Best Way to Help
Money is often the worst thing to give an addicted person living on the streets. Instead of giving money, consider a more meaningful way to engage the panhandler on the corner or a homeless person on the street. Our Help Cards will provide information about the food, shelter, and clothing we provide, along with the life-changing opportunities available through our New Life Program.
Make a direct impact on someone’s life by becoming a Christian mentor at Rescue Mission of Salt Lake. Christian mentors provide relational, emotional and spiritual support to the men and women participating in the New Life Recovery Program. If you’d like more information, read through our Statement of Faith. To discuss further please email Steve Speiss at our Men’s Center or Cyndi Harris at our Women’s Center.
